9. Jesus is my healer

Let’s see what is in today’s treasure chest! Who wants to know? Remember we only open the treasure chest when everyone is sitting down quietly. Now let’s open the chest!

Take out a teddy bear that has bandages on its arms and legs. Oh no, look at my Teddy, he’s so sick! What should we do? Get ideas from the kids – That’s right – when someone is sick, we can pray. But how do we pray? 

There is something in our treasure chest that will help us to learn. Take out a cup with some coins and the clothes of a beggar. Dress up one of the kids and tell the story of Peter and John at the temple gate from Acts 3:1-10. Jesus is the healer, so all we have to do is ask him to do the healing. 

Let’s practice laying hands on the teddy bear. Thank you Jesus that you’re the healer. Please heal the teddy. In Jesus name. Amen. 

Now give each child a chance to pray, and then ask if there are any children who need healing. Let them pray for each other.
